FED:Aust needs no-fault disability scheme=2
Governments currently spend about $6.2 billion a year on disability support, with the
majority coming from the states and territories.
An additional $6.3 billion will be needed to provide adequate support for about 360,000
Australians with disability, the draft report states.
The smaller of the two proposed schemes will be similar to state-based injury insurance
schemes already in place that cover people who acquire disability through motor vehicle
accidents.
